But you know you want them, I mean really, who doesn’t want a pair of medieval-style gauntlets.

Kindle 2 Released – Hideous

Amazon has released the Kindle 2, roughly a year after the release of the Kindle 1.

They seem to have bowed to every complaint leveled against the original and altered the new version accordingly. The result: Everything that was great about the original is gone, leaving an ugly flat thing that looks less like a book and more like the bastard child of a Sony reader and an iPhone.

I get the feeling I might be in the minority here, but I liked the original design. I thought the way it looked like a book in its cover was endearing, and I never had any problem with pressing the page turn buttons when I didn’t want to turn a page. Needless to say, I won’t be upgrading. I likely will, however, be hunting for lower prices on the Kindle 1’s of those who do.

Exploding Cellphones

Seems like a lot of cellphones have been exploding lately. No seriously, exploding. And those explosions have been killing people.

Okay, so its two deaths and there’s a likelihood that they were caused by defective third party batteries, but still when it comes to phones that nearly everyone in the country carries around every day…

Kinda makes me look at my phone askance, y’know.
